Why Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra invested in IPL

         N February 2009 Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra became part owners of the Indian Premier League IPL franchise cricket team Rajasthan Royals by paying about $ 15.4m for 11.70% of the shares. The couple shared their motives behind the movement in "The Wealth Report 2012", produced by Knight Frank Property Consultants in partnership with Citi Private Bank ....

(RK): "In our case it was a bit of both, we have not invested in (IPL)'s first season fi, but it quickly became clear that it would be a great fi phenomenon, and the highest figure so very attractive .. in the end of the day is a valuation game. we have lots of advice about what the team was worth and took a calculated risk. Based on current valuations, we see a good investment.

 

How successful IPL is a boost for the country as a whole

SSK: "The nation has more confidence, it is something we are all proud of.".

  


 SSK: "There is an enormous amount of potential in India in tier two cities like Nagpur and Ludhiana. Prosperity is achieved than in the larger cities and the people have much to spend. Luxury goods sales are growing very quickly and I heard that Tier two cities now are the largest buyers of Mercedes in India. "
